Bredasdorp Primary Swimming Pool Facility

Bredasdorp Primary is one of the few schools in the Overberg privileged to have its own swimming pool facility on the school grounds. This valuable asset plays an important role in both learner development and sport at our school.
Our 23.9m main pool is used for swimming coaching and training, from water safety and basic swimming skills to more advanced development. While it is not currently the standard length required for larger competitive galas, it remains an excellent facility for teaching and practice.
Adjacent to the main pool is a smaller training pool, which is especially suited to our Grade RR and Grade R learners. At only 40cm deep at its deepest point, it provides a safe and ideal environment for introducing young learners to the water and teaching essential water safety skills.

The swimming pool facility is also used by other entities in Bredasdorp for coaching and training, and by the local high school for underwater hockey, making it an important shared resource within the community.
Although the pool is due for future upgrades, it remains a valued part of our school’s physical amenities. The school recognises the importance of this facility and continues to include its development among our long-term priorities.
At Bredasdorp Primary, our swimming pool continues to make a meaningful contribution to water safety, physical development, and sporting opportunity for our learners.
